This Collection is a strong reminder of just how close WWII came to Australian Soil. During the first few years of the Second World War the 'Aussie' troops spent most their time fighting in Europe, North Africa and the Mediterranean. This changed when Japan attacked Pearl Harbour and starting sending their forces south towards the Aussies through South East Asia.

Australians fought off the Attack with Allied Forces with campaigns in Milne Bay, The Coral Sea and the Kokoda Track. A Japanese submarine made it all the way to Sydney Harbour and got trapped in fishing nets in the harbour.

This collection has 4 x $1 Coins depicting the different instances that WWII nearly made it to Australian Soil. Lest We Forget...
