In Chinese mythology, dragons are revered as divine creatures embodying wealth, power and good fortune. Serpentine-shaped, they are often depicted with their mouths open and their eyes wide in pursuit of a flaming pearl, a metaphor for wisdom and enlightenment.

DESIGN

The coin's reverse portrays a vibrantly coloured dragon with its long, scaly body twisted in the shape of a figure eight, an auspicious number in China. The legendary beast is ready to snatch a coloured gem inscribed with the Chinese character for dragon. The design also includes symbolic clouds, said to be created by the dragon's breath.

The obverse portrays the Ian Rank-Broadly effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, as well as the coin's weight, fineness, denomination and 2022 year-date.

No more than 888 of the Dragon 2022 2oz Silver Antiqued and Coloured Coin will be released.

This coin has been individually 'antiqued' to give it a unique finish conveying the surface abrasions of an ancient artefact. As a result of this treatment, the appearance of each coin may vary.

Each coin is a house in a classic display case within an illustrated shipper and accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
