In 1988, Australia celebrated the bicentenary of the landing of the First Fleet. To commemorate the occasion, the Royal Australian Mint produced the 1988 Australia $10 Bicentenary coin, which is highly collectible for its bullion silver content. These coins have a face value of $10 but are primarily traded as silver bullion due to their high silver content. They were minted in uncirculated and proof quality, and are similar in design to the State Series coins and the 10 dollar Bird Series. The coins are 34mm in diameter, weigh 20 grams, and are made of 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper.
