To mark the 60th anniversary of decimal currency in Australia, the Royal Australian Mint has released a special version of the iconic Mob of Roos design by Stuart Devlin. For the first time ever, a sixth kangaroo has been added to the classic mob, symbolising the sixth decade since the introduction of the dollar on 14 February 1966.
This brilliant uncirculated $1 coin features the much-loved high-relief design of six kangaroos in motion — five in the traditional arrangement plus the newly added sixth roo leaping above the group. The reverse proudly displays “1 DOLLAR” integrated into the scene, while the obverse carries the effigy of King Charles III with “CHARLES III · AUSTRALIA · 2026”.
Housed in a protective 2x2 flip for easy handling and display, this special anniversary edition is a must-have for decimal currency collectors and anyone who appreciates the iconic Australian kangaroo design.
A fantastic and meaningful way to celebrate six decades of Australia’s decimal currency system!
