Description

Every summer, as the heat settles over the Australian bush, a flash of metallic green and copper appears on the trunk of a eucalyptus — the Christmas Beetle, one of nature’s most dazzling seasonal visitors. This limited-edition Niue $1 coin captures that moment in striking detail, with the beetle rendered in rich, iridescent colour against a finely textured tree and delicate gum blossoms.

Struck to a brilliant uncirculated finish and silver-plated for lasting brilliance, each coin is presented in an attractive illustrated card from Melbourne Coins & Collectables Co. With a tiny mintage of just 999 pieces, this is a vivid and collectable tribute to one of Australia’s most beloved summer insects.
